Originally from Southampton, I am a life-long saints supporter and can be found in the family stand at St Mary’s most home games cheering them on. I went to Mill Hill School in north London and then University College London to study medicine, qualifying in 1991. I stayed in London and its environs for much of my junior doctor training, though escaped to sunny Brisbane for the final year, returning to the UK in 2004 to take up a Consultant post at Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust.
I am married to Lesley, an advanced nurse practitioner in Parkinson’s Disease at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust and we live in Reigate with our dog, Harvey. Our three children are in various stages of moving out to university but come home frequently. When not watching football I am often playing golf or enjoying walking in the Surrey hills.
